Who it's for:Open Water Divers, Advanced Open Water Divers
What it’s about:Adventure Dives are the individual modules that introduce specialties.
The modules can be completed as one-off classes or combined to achieve a certification:
with three completed Adventure Dives, a diver can be certified as an Adventure Diver, and by completing
five Adventure Dives, an Advanced Open Water
certification is possible. Popular Adventure Dives taught here include: Night Diving, Deep Diving,
Fish Identification, Boat Diving, Drift Diving, Enriched Air, Multilevel Dive, Night Dive, Peak
Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation, Underwater Photography, and
Wreck Diving.
How it works:Using the Adventures in Diving manual and the accompanying video, you
- view a portion of the Adventures in Diving video
- study the chapter(s) corresponding to the Adventure Dive(s) you’ll be doing
- complete the review section(s) for those chapters
- complete the required open water dive(s)
What’s included:Classroom session(s), open water dive(s), scuba equipment rental.
What’s extra: Additional equipment needed for certain dives, such as for underwater photo.
Other info:Advanced Open Water divers are encouraged to add Adventure Dives
they have not done to their training. For example, An Advanced Open Water Diver who has never done a night
dive might consider doing the Night Adventure Dive module before going on a liveaboard trip.
