Strictly speaking this isn’t actually a course but rather a certification that
recognizes a level of experience and achievement in diving and dive training. It is the highest level certification
that PADI recreational divers can reach.
How it works:
Essentially, working towards the MSD certification consists of setting interim goals
and meeting them with the assistance of your instructor. There are several specific requirements
you must be a Rescue Diver
you must have a minimum of fifty logged dives
you must hold at least five specialty certifications
Once you have met these goals, your instructor will apply for your MSD certification.
What’s included:
Classroom sessions, confined water sessions, equipment rental, as needed.
What’s extra:
Dives to meet the minimum logged dive count and specialized equipment for some
specialty courses.
Other info:
This is an excellent option for those divers who would like to continue their training
beyond Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver but who have no plans to become dive professionals.
