 Honeymoon Bay

Characteristics:The reef is shallow, descending to only about 15 - 20 meters, though most of
the dive will be spent in the shallower areas at 10-15 meters. It is made up of mostly hard corals with
pore coral heads scattered parallel to the beach and staghorns interspersed between them.
Highlights:If done as a day dive, look for colonies of garden eels in the deeper regions as
well as for Jenkin’s whiprays sleeping in the sand at the northeastern end of the site. As a night dive,
look for various crustaceans, including decorator crabs, lobsters, and shrimp. Flatworms and nudibranchs
are also common here.
Marcia's notes:This site is appropriate for divers of all levels. Currents tend to be mild because
of the sheltered location. Navigation is easy: simply descend the mooring line, do an out-and-back dive,
and ascend the same line to return to the boat.
